Rebooting a tablet makes it run a self-check on its hardware. This means that if there's a hardware problem, it's more likely to show up right after a reboot — which makes it much easier to spot and fix.
Restarting also refreshes the tablet, clearing out anything bogging it down in the background — so it often runs noticeably better afterward.
To restart (power cycle) tablet:
- Hold Power Button on side of tablet for 5-10 seconds
- On the tablet screen, a menu will appear and have the option to restart
- Tap on the restart option and wait for tablet reboot to complete
