If a receipt includes text in another language, the printer's encoding may need to be changed to print it correctly. Without the correct encoding, the printer won't recognize those characters — and will print unreadable text (garbled symbols) in their place.
Currently, our printer encoding supports Mandarin Chinese. So if the online ordering menu already has Mandarin on it, changing the printer encoding will allow receipts to print that text correctly.
To adjust the printer encoding, please do the following:
- On the Menufy Home Screen, tap the settings wheel in the right corner
- In the next window, tap “Advanced”
- On the Advanced Settings window, tap the “Printer Encoding” dropdown under Receipt Printer Settings
- Select language needed
